Back Bay Bog House

Free Lab: Design Build
Advisor: Peter Braithwaite
Location: Nova Scotia, Canada

Summer 2018

Guided by the Free Lab leaders at Peter Braithwaite Studio, a group of undergraduate and graduate Dalhousie architecture students designed and built the Bog House. Bog House, a structure adjacent to Back Bay, was built as a refuge for local rock climbers in Nova Scotia. Over the two-week design-build period, students designed a small structure with a modular kit of parts. The Free Lab explores novel approaches to light timber frame construction and joinery. Celina Abba completed the project drawings, and Jason Peterson took photography.
